Compare
Straight answers to the questions people actually ask. Where a head-to-head trial exists, it is cited. Where one does not, that is said plainly rather than papered over with a comparison of separate trials.
Mounjaro · Wegovy
Mounjaro vs Wegovy
Both are licensed UK weight-management injections. Tirzepatide produced more weight loss in the head-to-head trial. Access, tolerability and cost matter more than that for most people.
Ozempic · Wegovy
Ozempic vs Wegovy
Same drug, different licence and different doses. Ozempic is licensed for type 2 diabetes, Wegovy for weight management.
Wegovy tablet · Wegovy injection
Wegovy tablet vs Wegovy injection
Same drug, no needle. The tablet needs an eight-hour fast every day and is not available on the NHS.
Mounjaro · Ozempic
Mounjaro vs Ozempic
Both licensed for type 2 diabetes in the UK. Mounjaro also has a weight-management licence; Ozempic does not.
Retatrutide · Mounjaro
Retatrutide vs tirzepatide
Retatrutide showed bigger numbers in trials. Tirzepatide is a licensed medicine you can actually be prescribed. That is the whole comparison.
Saxenda · Wegovy
Saxenda vs Wegovy
Both licensed UK weight-management injections. Saxenda is daily and produces less weight loss; Wegovy is weekly.
BPC-157 · TB-500
BPC-157 vs TB-500
Both sold for injury healing, both unlicensed in the UK, and neither has meaningful human trial evidence. The comparison has no winner.
CJC-1295 · Ipamorelin
CJC-1295 vs ipamorelin
They act on different receptors, which is why they are sold together. Neither has human outcome evidence, and both are prohibited in sport.
How these are written
Cross-trial comparison is not evidence
Lining up two separate trials with different populations, durations and designs produces a number, and the number is unreliable.
This class has already produced the worked example. CagriSema was widely expected to beat tirzepatide on the strength of separate-trial comparisons. When REDEFINE 4 tested them directly, tirzepatide won and CagriSema missed its non-inferiority threshold.
So these pages distinguish clearly between head-to-head results and everything else. Where no direct trial exists, the honest answer is that nobody knows, and that is what they say.
